How to Build a Great Podcast

Kevin Stroud, History of English Podcast

If you’ve ever wondered how to build a great podcast, there are a handful of people out there who can tell you. One of my favorite podcasters is one of them. Kevin Stroud is the man behind The History of English Podcast, which is now in its seventh year and well into the 120s and 130s in terms of number of episodes. But the episodes of this great podcast are long, scripted, well-researched and informative.

As I told him in the interview, it’s like getting a really interesting college lecture from Mr. Happy English guy. But I wanted to dive deeper into his process, background and motivation to give you a glimpse at what it takes to produce such a well done program. It takes a lot of work to build a great podcast, that’s for sure!

After my talk with Kevin, I share some ideas around building brand partnerships, using one a client of ours at Cornett is currently undertaking. And I finish off with an interesting anecdote that impacts your paid search strategies I got from the CMO of a large company I happened to be speaking with recently.

Dial it up, learn a lot about podcasting and be sure to share this episode with your networks so they can learn, too!
