When software companies pitch me with some new feature, I normally discard the email. When Hootsuite added the opportunity to talk to social selling expert Koka Sexton to go along with its recent feature add-on called Amplify for Selling, I didn’t want to pass it up.
Sexton has established himself as one of the leading practitioners and advocates for the concept of social selling — using the relationship-based approach of networking and advocating for your circle of contacts to attract those to your product or service, without being all “buy me” “click this” and “download now” all the time. We caught up last week to chat about his definition of social sales, how sales people and businesses can approach the practice and Hootsuite’s new app that empowers the mobile salesforce.
