For some odd reason, I decided to open up Facebook Live last week and just chat with folks as I readied for my day. While the “call-in show” idea comes across as a bit amateur and disorganized — because it is — my friend Kathy Burke asked me what I thought about the Cambridge Analytica issue and the manipulation and use of our data by entities like Facebook.

Off the top of my head, I think I expressed some pretty pointed but salient points about how Cambridge Analytica and Facebook data use isn’t the problem. There’s a bigger one with our media landscape and consumer behavior overall.

You have to skip ahead to about the 20-minute mark to get to the meat. But enjoy!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the ideas shared there. Jump in the comments and let me know what you think!
