For all it’s entry-level glory, Hootsuite also has a fairly impressive enterprise social management platform. That tool just got way more competitive today as the software company announced partnerships with six leading social advertising platforms, further integrating organic social media management with paid social media management.
The social advertising solutions joining the Hootsuite integration include AdEspresso, Kenshoo, Nanigans, Adaptly, Mediative and Popimedia. Each have some unique stake in the social advertising space. Integrating with Hootsuite makes their tools more attractive. Adding them makes Hootsuite much more versatile as an integrated platform.
Mind you, this doesn’t mean any of these tools do the heavy lifting of strategy and media planning. They’re just integrated so you can drive your social ads all in one place — the same place you drive your organic activity if you’re a Hootsuite user.
Essentially, you’ll be better equipped as a Hootsuite Enterprise user to also manage your paid social advertising there. It’s not revolutionary or a blockbuster announcement, but it certainly vaults Hootsuite into the enterprise conversation more loudly than before. Competing against tools like Sprinklr, Spredfast and the Salesforce/Oracle/Adobe marketing cloud conglomerations, the move almost makes Hootsuite seem like a big boy.
Honestly, it would put them right in the middle of the discussion had the platform not been built on freemium accounts and still hold a reputation of being everyone’s cheap/free solution. Perhaps their enterprise product should rebrand as something a little more mature sounding than the sound made by birds and rednecks?
Is this going to cause users to switch to Hootsuite? Not likely. But it will certainly put the platform into more serious discussions when the software of choice is up for renewal. And that means good things for Hootsuite’s investors.
