The Infinite Dial is out for 2019 and there are two big stories about social media usage and podcasting. Is Facebook on the decline? Is podcasting becoming mainstream? Edison Research and Triton’s annual report shows some interesting trends and new developments in what social platforms people use, where they spend their time and what they listen to.

Tom Webster joined me for Episode 51 of Go Ahead Caller. He’s the Senior VP for Strategy at Edison and the primary man responsible for the Infinite Dial research. I ask him a litany of questions about how we should think about consumers and what has changed now the new social media usage data is available.
