Meltwater announced yesterday it has added podcast monitoring to its Meltwater Media Intelligence platform. The feature integrates seamlessly and, as I understand it, will surface mentions of your brand or desired keywords anytime they are spoken in an index of over 25,000 podcasts (with more added daily.)

This changes the game for brands and their involvement in podcasts since monitoring their content means they can now surface quantifiable business metrics around them. The previous challenge for brands was two-fold. They couldn’t easily monitor content across lots of podcasts. And listeners aren’t typically in situations where they can click on or remember a link or URL. So even sponsoring podcasts is hard to measure.

Meltwater has changed the game and how we need to think about podcasts for our brands — sponsoring them, creating them or even appearing in them organically. My thoughts are this week’s food for thought podcast episode. Give it a spin:

Don’t miss our Tuesday live interview podcast recordings. They’ll keep happening for now at 8 a.m. ET, 5 a.m. PT every Tuesday on LinkedIn. To see the “he’s live” notification when they start, be sure to follow me there.

Next week’s guest will be neuromarketing expert Felix Cao. We’ll talk about the psychology of the consumer and how we can tap into it. (Yes, we announced the same last week, but Felix fell ill this week so we postponed the show.)

Special thanks to Switcher Studio. They provide our nifty video switching software so the Tuesday interviews look and function like a big-time, professional TV show. You can bring the production value to your life streams or event recordings by signing up now at SwitcherStudio.com/falls. Use the code FALLS to get 10% off your subscription for as long as you have it!

And do please share the podcast feed or episodes with your networks. We would love to have more people just like you listening every week. Send them to http://theshow.jasonfalls.com to see the feed and get handy links to subscribe wherever they get their podcasts.
